It’s been quite some time since we’ve been waiting for the next-gen AirPods Pro. But seems like the wait is never-ending, as Ming-Chi Kuo suggests a 2022 launch for the much rumoured AirPods 2.
In his latest investors note obtained by Macrumors, Kuo says that the demand for AirPods in 2021 will be “lower-than-expected”, with a prediction of 70-75 million units to be sold this year. Further, he suggests that the shipments will cross the 100 million mark in 2022 with the launch of the second-gen AirPods Pro.
AirPods Pro is the new AirTag.
Last year, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that the AirPods Pro 2 would be going through some substantial design changes. According to Gurman, the second-gen AirPods Pro would be ditching the stem. It is also expected to come with support for Spatial Audio and a new charging case.
Moreover, Gurman also reports that the upcoming AirPods Pro will be more in line with the recently launched Beats Studio Buds. Moreover, the next-gen Pro’s are also expected to bring “updated motion sensors with a focus on “fitness tracking.”
