Ubisoft has released its financial report for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019 and the company is doing well, to say the least. It beat quarterly targets thanks to the continued success of Assassin’s Creed: Oddysey and Rainbow Six: Siege where player engagement was very high. Net Bookings overall were down 17.6% YoY despite beating the targets. Digital sales, however, was up 24% YoY, at a whopping 93% against 75% last year.

Perhaps the most intriguing takeaway from the image above is the rise in PC numbers YoY (34% vs 24%, ie, a growth of more than 40%) at the expense of PS4. This uplift may be attributed to the renewed interest in the PC market partly thanks to Ryzen and the buzz surrounding it throughout the entire community. It will be interesting to note if this trend continues or the consoles are able to bounce back next year once the next-gen PS and Xbox are out.
