After many teasers, Xiaomi has finally launched its 2021 portfolio of Mi NoteBooks in India at the Smarter Living event. The portfolio brings two new laptops, Mi NoteBook Pro and Mi Notebook Ultra. The new Mi Notebooks come with a metallic build, the latest 11th-gen Intel TigerLake processors, and a 16:10 display with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
Mi Notebook Ultra – Specifications and Features
The Mi Notebook Ultra comes with a unibody metal built carved out of a single piece of a sturdy Aluminium 6 series alloy and is available in a lustrous grey colour. The laptop weighs 1.7 Kg and is 17.9 mm thick.
The Mi Notebook Ultra sports a 15.6-inch IPS panel with a 16:10 golden aspect ratio. The resolution maxes out at 2560 x 1600, and the refresh rate at 90Hz, offering the optimal screen viewing experience. The panel covers 100% sRGB colour gamut, and it offers a peak brightness of 300 nits. The panel also supports DC Dimming and comes with TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light protection. The laptop offers an 89% screen-to-body ratio with a chin-up top featuring a 720P webcam.
The Mi Notebook Ultra is powered by Intel’s 11th gen TigerLake processor. You can choose either between the i5-11300H processor or the i7- 11370H processor. Both the processors are built on Intel’s 10nm SuperFin process node. The processor inside is paired with the Intel Iris Xe integrated GPU. The laptop is offered in two memory configurations – 8GB DDR4 RAM or 16GB DDR4 RAM coupled with 512GB of SSD storage. It runs Windows 10 out of the box and comes with MS Office Home & Student Edition 2019, and Mi SmartShare. The Mi Notebook will be eligible for a free Windows 11 upgrade when available.
The Mi Notebook Ultra features a full-size keyboard with a 3 level backlight. The keys offer a travel distance of 1.5mm. Further, it comes with a 62% large trackpad compared to the last generation Mi Notebook 14. The trackpad comes with support for Windows Precision Drivers enabling multi-finger gestures and taps for various commands.
A 70 WHr battery backs up the Mi Notebook Ultra. Xiaomi claims that the would last up to 12 hours of usage on a full charge. As per the company, the battery can be refilled from 0 to 50% in just 45 minutes, thanks to the 65W USB Type-C charger included in the box.
As for accessibility and connectivity, the laptop features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1, alongside a Thunderbolt 4 port and a type C, a USB 3.2, a USB 2.0 port and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack. The Mi Notebook Ultra comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.

Mi Notebook Pro – Specifications and Features
The Mi Notebook Pro borrows many of its features from the NoteBook Ultra. It differs in the design and the looks, being smaller and lighter than the Ultra model.
The Mi Notebook Pro features a 14-inch IPS LCD panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The panel offers a resolution of 2,560×1,600-pixel. Unlike the Ultra, the Pro has a standard refresh rate of 60Hz.
The Pro comes with a smaller 56Whr battery which would last you an hour less than the Ultra. But, you still get the 65W charger which can charge the laptop from 0-50% in 35 minutes. Moreover, the Mi Notebook Pro’s keyboard offers a key travel distance of 1.5mm instead of Ultra’s 1.3 mm.
Mi Notebook Ultra and Pro- Pricing and Availability
The Mi Notebook Ultra and Notebook Pro will be available starting August 31 through Mi.com, Amazon, and Mi Home Stores across India. Both the laptops will be offered in a single colour option, Lustrous Gray.
