The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been critically applauded to be one of, if not the best RPG games ever made. The game set a benchmark for what to expect from AAA developers, with no microtransactions, or cut content in sight. Even its DLCs offered far more content than contemporary open-world games of the time.

CD Projekt RED’s influence on the industry can be seen quite easily. Even Ubisoft, a much bigger game developer, took inspiration from Geralt’s adventures in turning the Assassin’s Creed franchise around as one with RPG mechanics and rich lore.

While you’re here, you should also check out the recreation of the main theme by the game’s composers.

CDPR’s next game is the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. However, the developer has made it clear that they won’t be leaving the Witcher universe any time soon, with the franchise being more popular than ever with the recent Netflix series being well received. The game also made its way to the portable Nintendo Switch!
