Mi 11 Lite 5G Launched: World’s First Snapdragon 780 Powered Smartphone

Xiaomi’s Mega Launch Event was not just limited to the flashiest smartphones, but it also unveiled a budget centric 5G smartphone, the Mi 11 Lite. Well, it’s the first Snapdragon 780 powered smartphone in the world. Moreover, Xiaomi also unveiled a 4G variant powered by Snapdragon 732 SoC.

Both the Mi 11 Lite’s boasts the exact specification apart from the different chipsets.

Mi 11 Lite

The Mi 11 Lite features a flat 6.55-inch AMOLED having an FHD+ resolution with a punch-hole cutout at the top left corner. The display has a refresh rate of 90Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz with 10-bit colour depth. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side, doubling up as a power key. It has support for DCI-P3 colour gamut, plus Dolby Vision and HDR10+ certification.

Mi 11 Lite

Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 780G SoC inside the Mi 11 Lite 5G succeeds the Snapdragon 765G. For starters, it’s built on Samsung’s 5nm process node. It comes with faster Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz along with the new Adreno 642 GPU. The chipset inside is coupled up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of built-in storage. It runs Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 out-of-the-box. It comes with a 4,250mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

Mi 11 Lite

Mi 11 Lite features a similar camera module as the flagship Mi 11. The triple camera setup at the back is led by a 64MP primary sensor joined by an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 119-degree FOV and a 5MP telephoto macro cameraThe punch-hole cutout on the front houses a 20MP camera for selfies.

The 5G variant features NFC for contactless payments.

Mi 11 Lite – Pricing and Availability

The Mi 11 Lite 4G will be available in three colours: Black, Pink, or Blue. There are three storage variants available, with the base variant being retailing for €299.

Meanwhile, the 5G variant will also come in three colours: Black, Yellow, or Green.
