Crysis Remaster/Sequel Teased – Next-Gen Launch Title Announcement Imminent?

Ah, Crysis. The game which was, and still continues to be, used as a benchmark more than a game. The original g, game, eloped by Crytek, was an innovative game which pushed the graphics in a new direction. And now, 7 years after the last instalment, it seems like we just might get another Crysis game after all.

The game’s official twitter handle just teased some sort of announcement coming soon.

If I were to guess, then we might be in for either a remaster of the original 2007 game or a brand new sequel. In either case, I’m quite confident that the new game will launch alongside the next-gen consoles. After all, the first game made all the headlines for pushing the boundaries of what videogame graphics could achieve. It only seems apt that a new game be used to showcase the PS5 and Xbox Series X’s impeccable hardware.

My former guess is thanks to a new video that Crytek put out recently showcasing their portfolio of games over the years. At the end of the video, a scene quite reminiscent of the first Crysis game is shown, albeit looking much better. When coupled with the mysterious new tweet, it starts to look pretty clear that any new game will be a remaster. At the very least be returning to the same Lingshan islands that the first game took place in.

We’ll keep you updated on the any new Crysis game news as we get confirmation directly from the developers.
