Intel Core i7-8700K Beats AMD Ryzen 9 3900X in Ashes of the Singularity Benchmark

We’ve seen many synthetic benchmarks of the AMD Ryzen 3000 chips in the recent past, but not many real-world or game benchmarks. Today, @Komachi shared the Ashes of the Singularity scores of the Ryzen 7 3700X and the Ryzen 9 3900X, and we have gotten a chance to compare it to Intel’s existing 8th Gen Core i7-8700K. Let’s dig in.

    Ryzen 5 3600, Ryzen 7 3700X & Ryzen 9 3900X: Ashes of the Singularity

At first sight, these are outright misleading, but on careful analysis, you can get a good idea of how the Ryzen 3000 chips will perform in games. These results are a bit too much to take in. So look closely. The Core i7-8700K is quite a bit faster than the Ryzen 7 3700X at 1080p (high), but we’re not sure whether both the 1080 Ti’s are running at the same frequencies, so don’t take these results as final.

However, the fact that the RTX 2080 Ti/Ryzen 9 3900X setup is slower than the Intel i7/NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti combo is surprising, to say the least. We’re not sure if this will change as the CPUs are launched after two days via game/driver update but one thing can be said for sure. The Coffee Lake parts will continue to perform on the same level as the Zen 2 chips (at least) in gaming.

As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, the Ryzen 6 3600 is paired with a Radeon RX 5700 XT, but its score is crippled by the hex-core CPU, so we can’t make a proper comparison.

…i use my computer 2015 no Problem.. My computer is running smoothly intel is the beast

    2. Bro trust me come in India and see i3 9100f is for 8000 thousands rupees and it beats ryzen 5 2600 in 1080p gaming mind my words only in gaming

    3. LoL dx12 vs Vulcan, make sure you get the story right before posting it as direct comparison between two CPUs.

    4. Ok so I am pretty sure intel was on 99% CPU usage while and around 70 or lower for multitasking sht and their is price gap too and I would like to see some real evidence as u said we don’t know which frequency graphic card was running etc tommrow is July 7 we will be seeing alot of benchmark don’t know about u all but I will and decide it then

    5. I used a gtx 1080ti in raid and core i7 8th gen with overcloacking to 4.9ghz 64gb ram and 1tb m.2 nvme ssd
      Running perfect

    6. Look closely. Half-resolution terrain is off for Intel. Ridiculous comparison. Nothing is the same throughout. This means absolutely nothing.
