PlayStation 5 Price Starts at $399 – Releasing on November 12th (19th Worldwide)

Sony has finally revealed the PlayStation 5 price and pre-order details. The PS5 Digital Edition will cost $399 with the standard console at $499. The consoles will release on following dates and markets:

• November 12 – US, Japan, Canada, mexico, New Zealand, South Korea
• November 19 – Worldwide

The much-awaited information came at the tail end of the PlayStation showcase which took place on September 16.

With price and pre-order details for Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S being revealed earlier last week, it was pretty much expected that Sony would have to reveal the same information at the showcase.

Previously, many industry analysts predicted the PlayStation 5 would cost just around $500, as the production costs itself were coming in around $450. The final PlayStation 5 price of $499 isn’t exactly unexpected, especially with the more powerful Xbox Series X priced the same.

The PlayStation 5 and the PS5 Digital Edition will release on November 12th, 2020 in select markets, them 19th for Worldwide.
