After a series of convincing leaks, NVIDIA has officially unveiled the GeForce RTX 3050 family of GPUs with the launch of new gaming laptops. With the current GPU drought, this might be the only way to get an RTX card at a decent price!

The official spec list for the new gaming laptop GPUs would put the base RTX 3050 above the desktop RTX 2060 if it wasn’t for the slower memory configuration and less VRAM. Otherwise, they line up pretty well with the earliest leaks we saw back in November. The latest gaming benchmark leaks we saw recently also put the RTX 3050 in the 2060’s territory, so gamers should be getting a pretty good value with its improved RT performance.

    NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti Gameplay

Take a look at RTX 3050 Ti gameplay, which seems to be keeping up with demanding games pretty well thanks to DLSS and its growing popularity.

The 50-series cards have always targeted gaming at 1080p medium-high settings for AAA titles, and ultra-ish for competitive games. Well, the gameplay video certainly positions the 3050 Ti as powerful enough to play AAA titles without much compromise, as evidenced by its performance in Outriders.

As for other hard-hitting titles, NVIDIA’s slides suggest that the RTX 3050 Ti can push above 60 FPS in Control and Watch Dogs Legion with RTX turned on and DLSS enabled. All of this is at medium settings, which is expected considering it’s a 50-series card. In one exception, the RTX 3050 Ti falls below the GTX 1650 Ti in Outriders, but otherwise manages to score above it with its inclusion of RT and DLSS support.

This is good news for gamers on the go who won’t need to compromise too much when gaming on their laptops. The new laptops will also include support for Resizeable BAR, NVIDIA Reflex.

The gaming laptops with RTX 3050 family of cards and Intel’s 11th Gen core CPUs are available starting at $799.
