Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce 5G: An Intel i9 and the Z390 for $1600

    Just a few months back Gigabyte launched its flagship motherboard, the Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce for a whopping $900. And for those of you who thought the motherboard or its price wasn’t already extreme enough by itself then Gigabyte is going a step further as the company has announced that they will be offering their Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce in the form of a bundle known as the Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce 5G for an eye-watering price tag of $1600.

    The bundle will include the Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce motherboard paired with a pre-binned Core i9-9900K. The Core i9-9900K included in the bundle are cherry-picked and only the ones that can maintain a stable 5.1GHz on all cores are chosen.

    The motherboard i.e the Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce supports the most advanced AORUS design to date with the LGA 1151 socket compatible with the 8th and 9th Gen processors. The CPU socket is powered by dual 8-pin connectors protected by a solid metal armour around it. The AORUS Xtreme Waterforce comes with 16 IR Digital VRMs. The PWM design includes 16 TDA21462 60A MOSFETs and 8 IR3599 Phase Doublers.

    Intel Optane DIMMs Priced from $695 for 128GB to $7816 for 512GB

    Also to make things as easy as possible Gigabyte has pre-tuned the BIOS so that users don’t need to configure the settings for all cores hitting 5.1GHz or higher while overclocking. These settings consist of the following:

    • CPU multiplier: 51
    • BCLK: 100
    • CPU vCore: Auto
    • Loadline Calibration: Auto
    • XMP: Disable

    Most users buying the bundle should be able to hit the claimed speed out of the box unless there is a problem elsewhere in the system.
