Keeping up with the world of video games may be difficult. You’ll never be able to play them all since great games come out at such a quick rate, and many of the finest ones are more obscure titles that pass entirely under your radar. Hidden Agenda
Hidden Agenda is a PlayStation 4 exclusive interactive experience. As a murder investigator and a federal prosecutor, players must unravel the labyrinth of a serial killer known only as “The Trapper.” This game’s psychological thrills cannot be overstated. It also included a feature that allowed backseat players to participate—they could vote on which decision they believed was the best via an app. As a consequence, Hidden Agenda received the prize for the best social game.
Unfinished Swan
You play Monroe, a small child in The Unfinished Swan. Monroe’s mother was a painter who was well-known for never completing a piece. Monroe was only permitted to keep one of her pieces of art after she passed away. He picked one with a swan, but when he awoke one night, the swan had fled! Monroe needs the player’s assistance in finding his swan pal.
The Unfinished Swan earned a Game Critics Award for Best Downloadable Game, as well as two BAFTAs for Game Innovation and Debut Game. The game was originally launched for the PlayStation 3. However, it was recently ported to the PC and iOS platforms, which revived this wondrous indie title.
Dear Esther
Dear Esther is a game you’ve undoubtedly seen in a lot of headlines but never had the chance to play. It is, however, completely worthwhile. Players listen to messages from a guy about his dead wife in this simple walking simulator. Each replay of the game gives new messages, making the plot somewhat distinct for each player. Dear Esther was nominated for and won a number of prizes, including (but please note this is nowhere near the full list) the IGA Games Industry Awards’ Originality Award and the Independent Games Festival’s Excellence in Visual Arts Award. If you loved it, you should play Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, which its creators consider Dear Esther’s spiritual sequel, which is undoubtedly going to be a classic!
Planet Nomads
Planet Nomads is a sandbox game where players control an astronaut who has crash-landed, inspired by games like No Man’s Sky and Space Engineers. You’ll have the opportunity to explore a vivid environment full of odd flora and wildlife, but you’ll have to rely on what you can construct yourself to stay alive. This game was first released as a Kickstarter project in late 2015 or early 2016, and it received the People’s Choice Award at the 2016 Game Access Conference in Prague. It isn’t accessible on any consoles, but users may still play it on their Macs, Windows PCs, or Linux computers.
What Remains Of Edith Finch?
What Remains of Edith Finch is another game you most likely heard about but never got around to playing while it was in the news. It’s now available as part of the Xbox Game Pass, so there’s no reason not to. The game is a fantastic visual tale set in an eclectic and expansive family house, narrated from the perspective of Edith Finch, the family’s lone surviving member. The achievements are a terrific way to get quick points in this basic game. In 2017 and 2018, it earned a number of prizes, including Best Gameplay at the “Games for Change” Awards, Best Narrative at the Game Developers’ Choice Awards, and the SXSW Gaming Award for Excellence in Narrative.
