Xiaomi’s newest smartphone, the Redmi 5 is set to launch in India on Wednesday at 3pm. As of now this is just sheer speculation, Xiaomi has tweeted “Coming soon a bigger display in the #CompactPowerhouse. Join us for the livestream on 14th March at 3PM”.
Xiaomi has been going all out on marketing Xiaomi’s latest device. Apart from the details at the official revelation, not much is know about the Redmi 5.
Amazon India has confirmed that the Redmi 5 will be exclusive to its platform. The page lists the smartphone as ‘Coming Soon’, there is a Notify Me button that allows users to sign up to get updates for the handset.
The Amazon India page doesn’t really shed much light on the device, other than the bare minimum marketing tit-bits. Xiaomi claims that the majority of consumers prefer a slimmer smartphone, with a bigger display that fits better in the palm. In addition to that, selfies and performance are still a major factor.
