Xbox India has confirmed the pre-order details for Xbox Series X and Series S. Both consoles will be available to pre-order on September 22 at 9 am from Amazon India, Flipkart, and Reliance Digital.
[Update: When contacted, Games The Shop confirmed they haven’t received any word on Xbox pre-orders. The retailer will accept pre-orders for PlayStation 5 when that happens in India.]
In a new blog post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft gave key details regarding its next-gen launch strategy. Pre-orders for both consoles will start on September 22 globally. With Xbox All-Access, buyers in certain countries will be able to get the consoles by paying a monthly fee, but the program is not yet available in India.
We’ve contacted Xbox India asking about their plans on bringing Xbox All-Access to the country, but the company hasn’t given us any clear answer on that.
It’s a little surprising that Xbox has revealed its pre-order and pricing details for India, but Sony hasn’t done the same for PlayStation 5. PlayStation has long been the dominating player in the field when it comes to game consoles in India, so the reason for the lack of price/pre-order information is unclear.
Both Xbox Series X and Series S will release on November 10 globally, including India.
