Vivo Nex S and Nex A are set to launch in the Indian market on July 19. The Chinese company sent out a “Block Your Date” invite to the media which confirms the date. The Vivo Nex range was announced earlier in June and started selling in China last week.
This was the world’s first near bezel-less, non-concept phone with a screen-to-body ratio of 91.3%. They achieved this crazy ratio by motorising the front camera which now pops up every time you need the front camera. The Vivo Nex range also include their own AI called Jovi and come with up to 256 GB of on-board storage. The Nex A has a Snapdragon 710 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage while the Nex S has a Snapdragon 845, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Both devices look similar with the USP being the pop-up selfie camera. The screen is a 6.6″ Super AMOLED 19.3:9 FHD+ display. The bezels around this gorgeous Samsung panel are very minimal and the device sports a small chin. The software is FunTouchOS skinned over Android Oreo 8.1. Both the Nex devices have a dual rear camera setup with 12 MP primary sensor and a 5 MP secondary sensor, while the pop-up module sports an 8 MP sensor. the smartphones also come with in-display fingerprint scanners. The Vivo Nex A costs CNY 3898 (approximately Rs 40,500) while the 8GB/128GB variant of the Nex S comes in at CNY 4498 (approx. Rs 47,000). The specced out version of the Vivo Nex S is priced at CNY 4998 (approx. Rs 52,000). Both devices come in Black and Red colour options but they should be given some crazy, over the top official name by the time of the release. The top-tier Nex S comes in only the Black version so far. I am positive that Vivo, like most other Chinese companies will have these devices in more colour options in a couple of months down the line.
