Next year’s OnePlus flagships are on their way and they will be coming out sooner than usual. Last month we saw CAD renders of the OnePlus 9 5G, but now PhoneArena has revealed the OnePlus 9 5G in its full glory, giving us our first unofficial look at the OnePlus’ upcoming flagship.

The images show the OnePlus 9 5G from every possible angle, giving us a clear look at the smartphone, corroborating with previous CAD renders.

The alleged OnePlus smartphone pictured in the silver features a new camera module consisting of two big sensors and one smaller one accompanied by a LED flash, reminiscent of what previous CAD renders have suggested. Apparently, there’s “Ultrashort” written on the camera module, suggesting that one of the cameras could be an ultrawide one.

Since this is a prototype, OnePlus has not used its official branding on the smartphone as companies tend to create different logos for their prototype units.

As far as display is concerned, the OnePlus is again going with a 6.55-inch flat punch-hole panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz, identical to its predecessor, the OnePlus 8T, and according to PhoneArena’s report, the display has a resolution of 2400 x 1080p (FHD+) and has an aspect ratio of 20:9.

Further, the side rails are made of metal, and presumably aluminium, with the power button, volume rocker, and alert slider in their usual locations. Then at the bottom, we have the speaker grills and USB C port.

    OnePlus 9 5G Specifications

That’s not it, PhoneArena also received several screenshots revealing key specifications of the OnePlus 9 5G.

The smartphone having a model number ‘LE2117‘ is running on ‘Lahania’ which is a codename for the recently announced Snapdragon 888, corroborating previous Geekbench listing that revealed the specified model number running Lahania. Further, this particular model of the OnePlus 9 5G has 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. It runs OxygenOS on top of Android 11, which suggests that the OnePlus 9 5G will be coming with OxygenOS 11 out of the box.

Strangely, the front and back camera has been shown as 4MP and 12MP sensor, but since this is a prototype OnePlus might be toying around with the unit, and we expect to see at least a 16MP sensor in front and 48MP in the back.

The OnePlus 9 series is expected to debut in March 2021 and this time OnePlus is adding a third smartphone to its flagship roaster, the OnePlus 9E.
