Telltale games, on 21st September 2018 officially announced that it will be shutting down, following a round of mass layoffs for the company’s 250 or so employees which saw almost 90% of the workforce discharged.

Best known for their narrative titles like borderlands, the studio had carved a small niche for itself in the industry.

Pete Hawley, the CEO of telltale games talked about the year being hard on the company and the effort to steer the studio in a new direction. The studio did spit out some good content this year which received popular response, but unfortunately that didn’t translate into much profit for the company.

Reports suggest that the skeleton team left is set to finish the latest installment of The walking Dead, while titles like Strangers things and other upcoming ones are effectively cancelled.

Sources say that the company has filed for bankruptcy and would not be undertaking any new projects for the foreseeable future.
