Spotify is here with a brand new update. The new feature will now bring in a curated list of songs suited according to a person’s taste and also their workout regimen. The music streaming service now has a new tool to support the update, called Soundtrack Your Workout which is the company’s quiz based playlist. Through this playlist, you will have fresh new tunes to jam to while your workout at home.
The personalized playlist is one of the features that have been added to Spotify of late, “Discover Weekly,” which is a feature that shows up just based on the listening history, but Soundtrack Your Workout works differently. Soundtrack Your Workout will work after the user answers a short quiz which is held on the microsite.
Soundtrack Your Workout will ask for a few questions, it will ask you your duration of the workout schedule if you are okay with explicit content as most of us are working out from home and could have kids around. The other questions include what kind of workout you’d be doing, if you work out alone, your favorite genres along with the “workout vibe” you prefer.
If you are somebody that prefers pop music then voila! You’ll have a personalized playlist ready curated just according to your taste. You could also opt to have both music and podcasts combined in this playlist if you wish to have so.
“Workout audio has always been a big focus for listeners on Spotify around the globe, and now more than ever, users are finding creative ways to stay active and healthy in this current climate,” Shanon Cook, Spotify’s Trends Expert, said in her statement during the feature’s launch.
A user could also retake the quiz if they like and each time they do so, a new playlist will be provided to them. Like mentioned before Spotify already has had designed playlist but this time it wants to distinctly include podcasts and music based on a user’s regimen.
Spotify also emphasizes that personalization is a necessity in today’s times! Workout music is popular on Spotify anyway, the younger population is hooked on to the same. Spotify has reported that users were of ages 18 to 29 in the majority. More than a million workout playlists have already been created by users according to Spotify and now they have a new way to mix and match the kind of music they wish to hear.
