It looks like Sony is planning to launch its first Penta camera smartphone in the near future, at least according to the new leak. Android Next has published new images of what is said to be Sony’s upcoming new flagship smartphone – Sony Xperia 1.1, aka Xperia 5 Plus. The interesting thing about the report is that it has revealed its Penta camera setup on the rear part.

A report by the Japanese team claims that the new upcoming Sony Xperia series flagship will have dual front stereo speakers and a total of five cameras on the rear part, out of which one of the lenses will be a periscope unit.

While we still do not have the complete specifications of the device, it would not be wrong to expect the smartphones to come with the flagship-grade specifications.

If the report is to be believed, then the forthcoming Sony Xperia 1.1, aka Xperia 5 plus, will feature a 12MP main camera with a sensor size of 1/11.5”, a 64MP camera with a 1/1.7 inch sensor size, a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera with a periscope unit with OIS.

Furthermore, this new leak is in line with the CAD, which is based on the 360-degree video of Xperia 5 Plus. Moreover, the last month’s leak revealed that the phone would feature a triple camera setup at the back along with a separate Time of Flight camera for the depth mapping.
