At long last, Sony has finally unveiled the first look at the PlayStation 5. And it sure looks next-gen! The reveal came at the end of the PS5 game reveal event and was quite a surprise as Sony had downplayed any console reveal expectations. Take a look at all its glory here:
The PS5 will also come with a disk-less digital edition, similar to the Xbox One S All-Digital. It’s pretty clear that this will be the cheaper option, considering all the expensive elements that make up the console.
Along side the console some new accessories were also revealed:
- DualSense controller charging station
- New HD Camera
- Pulse 3D Wireless Headset
- A Media Remote
The entire event was jam-packed with new games reveals like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon: Forbidden West, and more. What’s more surprising is the Digital edition, which might not sit well with existing PS4 owners and their physical library of games. But then again, I guess if you have a PS Plus subscription and don’t want to spend too much, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition makes more sense. For more details check out the PlayStation Blog.
Sony didn’t reveal the price of the console(s) yet but that was expected. PlayStation 5 is targeting a Holiday 2020 release, so expect it drop anytime after October.
For the first time, I see a clear winner between Sony and Microsoft. Sorry Microsoft, the XBox Series X looks like just a box.
Sony has nailed the looks, dbrand will take care of the fact that it’s not black.
lol dbrand!
But yeah, Sony knows first impressions matter, and their production quality was top notch.
