Selena Gomez is a much-loved TV star who is famous for starring in everyone’s favourite Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place and films such as Another Cinderella Story, Monte Carlo and Hotel Transylvania. On top of that, she is also a famous singer with several hits to her name.

The 27-year-old, thus, is making her way back to TV with HBO Max’s new show where she will star in and will also produce.

The show will be 10-episodes long and unscripted. On top of that, it will feature the singer and actress making delicious dishes during the quarantine – a territory which Selena is absolutely not familiar with.

On top of that, in each episode, different master chefs will also join Gomez as she tries her hand at cooking. Together, they will attempt to create something new in every episode, share tips and tricks with each other and deal with all the problems that come with handling the kitchen – from ovens breaking down to missing ingredients.

Moreover, each episode will also shed light on a food-related charity. It will also be a great way for people to look at the joys and hardships of cooking – through a humorous and casual approach. Audiences can choose to tag along with Gomez on her path to learn cooking.

This seems to be the perfect show for Gomez to host during a time when half the world is practising social distancing and staying at home. Add to that her self-confessed love for food, you have the recipe for a perfect show!

Gomez herself has added many times that if not an actress, she would definitely have chosen cooking as her alternative career path. Even though she isn’t a professional, according to her, it is the interest to learn something new and that you love is all that matters.

She is also going to be the executive producer for the show via her July Moon Productions. She will be joined by Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman of Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation.

In the past, Gomez has been very vocal about her mental health and her struggles with lupus, an inflammatory disease where the immune system attacks its own tissues. After quitting social media for some time, she came back with a bang. She has been making good use of all the free time that quarantine has to offer by working on creating new songs.

In addition to this, in order to help people during these difficult times, Selena has also been donating money to Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.

“So thankful for every single medical professional who is putting their health on the line to take care of others,” she tweeted. “I’m donating to @CedarsSinai as they are low on masks and ventilators. They’ve taken such good care of me so it’s my turn to show my gratitude.”

HBO Max has been seriously stepping up its game with the content, sorting everything into place before its May 27 debut. Although the release date for the new series hasn’t been announced yet, Gomez’s arrival at the streaming service will seriously push people’s interest to sign up for the streamer.
