Xiaomi is set to launch its Laptop manufacturing Subbrand, RedmiBook in India soon, recent trademark listing suggests. Xiaomi has been selling laptops under two series, namely Mi notebook and RedmiBook inside its homeland, China for a few years. The company may hit the Indian market soon with its Affordable Ultrabook model
Redmi has been offering affordable products in India so far. So, the listing of the brand RedmiBook suggests the products(laptops) to be priced lower than the competition. The present light-weight ultrabook players like HP, DELL, Lenovo, etc. sell their products at a starting price of Rs.50,000. The RedmiBook series may launch with an even more affordable price tag.
It is unclear as to whether the 13-inch model or the 14-inch model will make it to India but both of them offer a premium build and decent specifications. Xiaomi VP, Manu Kumar Jain, hinted Gaming Laptops to be launched in India, previously. So we expect some Gaming centric Laptops to follow the launch of RedmiBook, next year.
RedmiBook 13 and 14:
The latest laptop launched by Xiaomi was the RedmiBook 13 alongside the Redmi K30 in China. It offers a small 13.3-inch narrow bezel FHD+ display. Besides the company allows choosing between the latest 10th Gen Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors, with a base 8GB RAM. It uses an NVIDIA MX250 graphics card and packs in a 512Gb SSD on-board. Even the RedmiBook 13 runs the latest Windows 10.
RedmiBook Expected Pricing:
The RedmiBook 13 price was initially set at CNY 4,199 (roughly Rs. 42,300) that includes the Intel Core i5 processor along with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD. It goes up to CNY 5,199 for the configuration that includes a Core i7 processor, paired with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD.
We expect aggressive pricing by Xiaomi for the Ultrabooks in India.
