Yep. Another Realme launch. Just five (almost) months after launching Realme 6 series in India, the company today officially unveiled its successor — the Realme 7 and 7 Pro. The smartphones offer minor yet much-required improvements the previous generation smartphones. Along with these smartphones, the company also expanded its lifestyle portfolio by launching an electric toothbrush and two bags (yes, you read that right!). Here are all the details:

Realme 7 Pro: Design and Specifications

Realme 7 Pro features an AMOLED Display
    • Display

Starting off with the front (the talk of the town!), Realme 7 Pro is the first Realme smartphone under the Rs. 20,000 price bracket to come with a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display. It’s got a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels and boasts 98% NTSC colour gamut and 600 nits of peak brightness. But unlike the last year’s Realme 6-series, the 7 Pro drops 90Hz refresh rate in favour of AMOLED 60Hz display. The company, during the event, claimed that it made this decision by taking feedback of customers and existing Realme users.

Though the AMOLED trade-off enables Realme to add an always-on display (quite a popular request among users) and an in-display fingerprint scanner on the 7 Pro, as opposed to the side-mounted one that came with its predecessor.

    • Build

One major downgrade, other than the loss of 90Hz refresh rate display, is that the company has used a polycarbonate back instead of the glass back this time. Realme 6 Pro was one of the first devices to use a glass back panel that provided a premium experience to users in the sub-Rs. 15,000 price segment. Though the move to polycarbonate build seems like a downgrade, Realme ensures that the device still offers a premium build and comfortable in-hand feel.

Realme 7 features a 32MP selfie camera on the front
    • Build and Cameras

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, Realme 7 Pro guarantees a stellar performance. Coupled with an 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB (UFS 2.1) of onboard storage, Realme is really putting in the performance front. The phone also features a MicroSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 10 based RealmeUI.

This is Realme’s first (under Rs. 20,000) smartphone to feature 65W SuperDart charging. With a huge 4,500 mAh battery, Realme touts you can charge it from 0% to 100% in just 34 minutes.

Realme’s using the same set of front and back cameras on both the 7 and 7 Pro. Though there’s a difference in the shape of the modules. On the rear, 7 Pro features a quad-camera setup which has a 64MP primary Sony IMX682 sensor, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor on the rear here. One key thing to note here is that Realme has dropped the telephoto lens in favour of macro lens, which in my opinion sounds like a downgrade. The front features a single punch-hole 32MP selfie shooter.

    Realme 7: Design and Specifications

Realme 7 features 90Hz LCD display instead of 60HZ AMOLED

While the main highlight of the show is the addition of an AMOLED display to the 7 Pro, the lower-priced Realme 7 still retains the good old 6.5-inch FullHD+ 90Hz LCD display. This is the world’s first smartphone to feature MediaTek Helio G95 SoC, which is a pretty good upgrade over the Realme 6’s G90T. Realme 7 features a 5,000 mAh battery but drops the fast charging to 30W. Realme claims it can be charged up to 100% in just in 65 minutes, which is pretty good considering the fat battery it has. Rest of the features are, more-or-less, still the same on both the phones.

    Realme Electric Toothbrush

    Realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush

Realme, along with the two smartphones, also announced the highly anticipated M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush. Priced at 1,999, Realme electric toothbrush features anti-bacterial bristles, a long-running battery, and wireless charging support. The toothbrush supports 34,000 rotations per minute and 4 operating modes — Soft Mode, Clean Mode, White Mode and Polish Mode. It’s got an 800 mAh battery that will last you 90-days in a single charge. Realme also bundles a wireless charger in the box.
