We had recently reported about the Radeon VII being sold at $850 on Amazon due to a supply shortage. You can read about our speculations and AMD PR’s response as to why here.
Following its footsteps, the one place you’d expect to have an aptly priced Radeon 7 – Newegg – is selling the ASRock Phantom Gaming X Radeon VII for $799, which is significantly higher than the quoted $699 MSRP.

At this point, it’s quite evident AMD regrets their decision to penetrate the market by selling the Radeon 7 at a loss or little to no profit. The supply shortage is no surprise as the Card isn’t easy to manufacture but AMD trying to make a quick buck out of the early launch demand will probably not play their way for long.
