Whenever there’s a discussion about battle royal games, two names always knock our heads- PUBG and Fortnite. Both of the games go head to head to be the Best Combat Game of the decade. There has been a lot of discussion about the PC versions of the game. So in today’s article, we shall compare the mobile versions of the games.
The grounds on which the two games will be compared are as follows:
- Graphics and Visualization
- In-Game sounds
- Availability/Minimum Requirements
- Game Performance
- Audience Involvement
Both of the games are based on the concept of survival against the other players on the server. Players start from Airplane/Airbus and they drop down to their preferred locations. After the completion of loots, players go and fight for the win. So the gameplay of both the games is similar. But yes the battles happening over PUBG Mobile turns out to be more hot-blooded than the battles of Fortnite Mobile.
2. Graphics and Visualization
The graphics and visualization of both the games look very stunning. However, the main difference between the two games is that the visualization of PUBG Mobile seems very realistic and the visualization of Fortnite Mobile seems very animated.
3. In-Game Sounds
The in-game sounds of both games are very detailed yet the in-game sounds of PUBG Mobile make the game more intensifying whereas the in-game sounds of Fortnite Mobile make it more fascinating. Thus, the in-game sound effects of both the games play a major role in the outbreak of the game.
If we consider the default maps included in the game, then PUBG Mobile’s 8×8 Erangle Map looks way too big than the Fortnite Mobile map. But nevertheless Fortnite Mobile has options where players can customize their own map and play a death-run mode in that map.
Well, if we talk about weapons, then the weapons in both the games are categorized mainly under 6 classes i.e. Assault Riffles, Sub Machine Guns, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Pistols, and Melee Weapons but still, the weapons of both the games are distinguishable because of two reasons. Firstly, attachments of guns don’t play an important role in Fortnite mobile. Whereas in PUBG Mobile unless and until a gun is properly equipped with attachments, the gun recoils a lot. Secondly, the ammunition capacity of PUBG Mobile weapons is much more than that available in Fortnite Mobile.
There’s no question that PUBG Mobile has a big garage of vehicles. But the attractive thing about Fortnite Mobile is that although they just have few vehicles, they surely got varying vehicles starting from Skateboard to grocery kart.
7. Game Requirements/ Availability
Minimum Requirements for PUBG Mobile-
- Operating system- Android 5.1 or higher
- RAM- Minimum 3 GB RAM needed (for lag-free gameplay)
- Storage- 2 GB free space (without maps and skins)
- GPU- Snapdragon 450 (with low game settings)
Minimum Requirements for Fortnite Mobile-
- Operating system- Android 8.0 or higher, iOS
- RAM- Minimum 4GB RAM needed
- Storage- 3GB free space needed
- GPU – Adreno 530 or higher
PUBG Mobile was released over the Android /iOS platform via Google Play and Apple app store. On the other hand, Fortnite launched the mobile version via Epic Games Store. Later on, the game was available over Google Playstore.
8. Game Performance
If we talk about game performance, the Fortnite Mobile is way ahead of PUBG Mobile. With every update PUBG Mobile gets very choppy and also the bugs of the game turn out to be a headache for the gamers. Often PUBG Mobile crashes up but this is not the thing with Fortnite Mobile. The game seems to perform in a smooth way even when the updates are unleashed. And the recommended FPS for both the games while aiming for a smooth game-run is 60.
9. Audience Involvement
We know if there is a debate about PC versions of the two games, then the games will have a very close encounter. But that is certainly not the case with the Mobile versions. PUBG Mobile has already got Millions of Audience whereas Fortnite somehow failed to attract mobile gamers.
Therefore, considering all the pros and cons of both the games, we can surely conclude that PUBG Mobile has an upper hand over Fortnite Mobile. There are various reasons for such an outcome, may it be the minimum requirements or not releasing the android version of the game over the Play store. Perhaps, for now, PUBG Mobile has overpowered Fortnite Mobile.
