Its no secret that Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda is an immensely popular franchise, being one of the most successful names in the video game business. It comes as no surprise, then to have other games try to cash in on its popularity by referencing it in small ways that are sure to attract as many people as possible. That’s exactly what appears to have happened in Phantasy Star Online 2, which has just seen a definitive release date in Japan for the Nintendo Switch. The game will be available on April 4th, 2018.
Revelaed during the Nintendo Direct that occurred last week, the new game (titled Phantasy Star Online 2: Cloud) is all set to have custom outfits modelled after the ones worn by the latest incarnations of Link and Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Not only that, but it also appears that the iconic Master Sword and Hylian Shield will also be available as weapons that can be used in the game. You can view the trailer here, which includes some snazzy gameplay footage as well as a display of the aforementioned costumes and weapons.
