OnePlus has been building the hype around their new smartphones series, the OnePlus Nord, for quite some time now. The company today finally took covers off the new series of smartphones in the world’s first AR launch event.

OnePlus Nord: Design and Specifications

Starting off with the design, OnePlus Nord features an all-glass body with a metal frame sandwiched in between. Both the back and front glass are Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5, but the back has a slightly curved arc on the edges to give a comfortable grip.

In the front, the Nord has a 6.44-inch (1080 x 2400 pixels, Full HD+) Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and supports sRGB and Display P3 color gamut. The front-display also houses an in-display fingerprint sensor

Moving on to the other specifications, the OnePlus Nord runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, with support for 5G SA/ NSA. To assist the processor, the device comes with 6GB (India only), 8GB, and 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB (India only), 128GB, and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. One key thing to note is that the 64GB variant has UFS 2.0 storage, not the UFS 2.1 the other two come with.

Supporting the Snapdragon 765G is a 4115 mAh battery. And of course, it won’t be an OnePlus device without fast-charging. The phone supports Warp Charge30T fast charging which is capable of charging the device up to 70% in half-an-hour.

On the software front, the device runs on OxygenOS 10.5 based on Android 10, out of the box.

Let’s Talk About Those Cameras

Coming to the rear cameras, the Nord sports a quad-camera array with Dual-LED flash. The main shooter is a Sony IMX586 sensor (48MP), accompanied by an 8MP (f/2.25) ultra-wide-angle lens with 119° FoV, a 5MP (f/2.4) depth sensor, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens.

The device has dual front-facing cameras, housed in a punch-hole display in the front. The front-camera setup includes a 32MP (f/2.45) Sony IMX616 primary sensor with EIS along with an 8MP (f/2.45) ultra-wide-angle lens with 105° FoV.

India Pricing and Availability

The OnePlus Nord comes in three configurations: 6+64GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 12GB + 256GB. The starting variant (6+64GB) is priced at ₹24,999 while the other two are priced at ₹27,999, and ₹29,999 in India respectively.

The OnePlus Nord comes in Blue Marble and Gray Onyx colors and will be available via both Amazon and OnePlus’ official website starting August 4th, but entry-level 6GB + 64GB version will be available only from September.
