OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 8 Pro will now be supporting the 30W fast wireless charging. The company has also revealed a dedicated Warp Charge 30 Wireless charger that will be required to fully realize the potential of its new high-speed wireless charging technology.  It will also be possible to wirelessly charge the OnePlus 8 Pro using the third part Qi wireless charger, but you will have to make do with slower charging – 5W or 10W.

OnePlus claims that it’s Warp Charge 3.0 Wireless charger will be able to charge the OnePlus 8 Pro from 1% to 50% in just half an hour. It also reveals that it will be able to peak nearly 30W output with 87% efficiency – which means that it will also run mostly cool while at it. OnePlus also revealed that it is using a ‘Kill Switch’ like feature in the charge pump inside its upcoming wireless charger that will deactivate when the abnormal currents and voltages are detected.

Coupled with its theoretical efficiency, the charger will make sure that your phone does not heat up and stays safe while maintaining a stable charge condition. OnePlus is also using a customized chip inside the charger to control the current and voltage to maximize overall efficiency.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is also expected to support with the 30W fast wired charging. Fast wireless charging may be exclusive to the OnePlus 8 Pro. The Vanilla OnePlus 8, while it is likely to support the wired fast charging, may miss out on the wireless charging to cut cost.

OnePlus is going to launch the OnePlus 8 series on the 14th of April via an online-only streaming event.

Yesterday, OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earphones were leaked over the internet with images and specifications.
