OnePlus 8T: Expected Specifications

There have been many speculations about the specifications of the upcoming smartphone. However, none of the rumours have been confirmed yet, except for the refresh rate. It was announced yesterday along with the launch event to be 120Hz. This suggests that it would similar to a Samsung camera array. Even so, if rumours are to be believed then, the upcoming smartphone is expected to have the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor chipset.

The company has now confirmed that the phone would come with a 65W charging and would, probably, have the latest OxygenOS 11 (based on Android 11) pre-installed. It is expected to have tons of new features that would debut for the first time in OnePlus smartphones. According to Pete Lau, CEO and Founder, OnePlus said that they have tried to improve and raise the bar in terms of the overall user experience by bringing in a wide array of new features they would be introducing for the first time in an OnePlus device.

The smartphone is also expected to have a RAM of about 8-12 GB with 256GB of storage. The camera setup is expected, more or less, to remain unchanged from the OnePlus’s 8 series, which included a combo of 48MP for the rear, and 16 MP for the front. An interesting fact about the refresh rate is that the 120Hz refresh rate is generally reserved for the “Pro” variant of the series of the smartphone. However, it appears that this time it would be featured in the base “T” variant itself.

So far there has been no official news surrounding the “Pro” variant of the upcoming smartphone which is among the flagship variant of the company. The confirmed refresh rate has led many to believe that there would not be a Pro variant of the OnePlus 8T series. However, it would be too soon to say anything at this point. Many of the details around are still surrounded by mystery, however, it is likely that the rumoured specification turns out to be true. Either way, it is likely that fans would have to wait a little longer as the launch date nears.
