The much anticipated OnePlus 6 is expected to hit the Indian market by mid May 2018. The price is expected to be higher than the OnePlus 5T ($499), so our guess is somewhere around $549 or 39,999 INR. However, at this point a lot of details are mere speculations.
A few details about the upcoming OnePlus flagship are confirmed. Two most prominent points being the inclusion of the notch and the device being water resistant. Sources say that the device will be unveiled in May, however there is a chance that it might be pushed to June. Both the earlier smartphones from the manufacturer were unveiled in June of their respective year, so this rumor might not be so far off.
OnePlus 6: Smartphone Specs
The OnePlus 6 is expected to be powered by the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and packed with 8 GB LPDDR4 RAM. The storage options are expected of upto 256 GB, along with 64 and 128 GB base models. The display is rumored to be super AMOLED with a FHD+ 2280 x 1080 resolution, and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen size is expected to measure 6.28 inch, resulting in a 90% screen-to-body ratio.
We also know that the OnePlus 6 will have a dual camera, 16MP f1.7 + 20MP f1.7 and it will be run by a 3450Mhz battery. Wireless charging is also an expected feature, given that the iPhone has it, so OnePlus might just include it. Apart from that, as mentioned above the OnePlus 6 will be water resistant. The headphone jack is thankfully still there and the phone may have a glass rear just like the iPhone.
As per a leak, the fingerprint sensor on the upcoming flagship sits below the camera on the rear. A pair of new wireless OnePlus headphones are also expected to make a showing along with the OnePlus 6. As for the weight, the smartphone is rumored to weigh 175g, with a thickness of 7.5mm.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau shared a bunch of shots taken using the OnePlus 6 on Chinese site Weibo. The picture quality seems decent enough for a flagship, though OnePlus won’t be threatening Apple or Samsung anytime soon, as far as the cameras are concerned.
Again, just like the iPhone, OnePlus 6 could have a facial recognition tech, although this is also conjecture at this point. Lastly coming to the notch, some people love it, some, not so much. To the surprise of fans, OnePlus CEO claimed that they will be releasing a firmware patch allowing the users to disable the notch if needed.
Infinity War and OnePlus 6
Just like they did with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, OnePlus is expected to produce a limited edition Marvel-themed OnePlus 6. The specs will be the same, it’ll just be a more fancier looking edition. Avengers: Infinity War is due to release on April 27.
