- According to a resetera user, Obsidian Entertainment letter-of-intent for acquisition by Microsoft has been prepared
Obsidian Entertainment, currently one of the finest studios in the market when it comes to the RPG genre is rumored to be soon acquired by Microsoft.
As of now there’s been official confirmation from either party but Matt Booty, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Studios, admitted that they were looking to acquire AA studios which they could help support and grow.
Obsidian Entertainment which is famous for its RPG output such as Fallout New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity and South Park: The Stick of Truth, would undoubtedly be an invaluable asset to the Xbox family which in recent years has been in need of some exclusive content especially compared to its closest competitors.
That being said, its best to temper expectations for now and wait for the official word on the situation from one of the parties.
