As we get closer to the launch of NVIDIA’s new graphics cards, some leaks are bound to happen. Up until now, we’ve only seen some leaked specs for them, but a new leak might have given us our first look at the RTX 3080. The images were first spotted on Chipell, with a new design that doesn’t look anything like the RTX 2000 (Turing) series.

The RTX 3080’s PCB layout was also apparently leaked with the following image. From the looks of it, the design looks extremely different from what we’ve seen before on team green’s lineup. The card carries with it an identifier – DA217892. Of course, as you can see the graphics card doesn’t have green accents, NVIDIA’s signature color. We suspect that’s only because these are early samples/prototypes.

As is tradition, fan renders of the card are also out on Reddit, and I have to say some of them look pretty cool. Here are some by Reddit user u/JDSP_ :

Of course, plans can still change so we’ll suggest taking these with a grain of salt. However, with the massive upgrade that the Ampere cards are rumored to be over RTX 2000, it certainly wouldn’t be surprising to see a design change with them. After all, the founders’ edition Turing cards moved away from Pascal’s single-fan blower design.

We’ll keep you updated on the RTX 3080, and it’s lower end counterparts when official news drops. Meanwhile, you might want to check out what AMD has to offer this year, with its Big Navi going up against the RTX 3080. Personally, I’m way more interested in the lower end cards of both lineups, as those are the ones which will make the most difference for PC gamers against the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
