NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti specs leak

With many specs leaks and popular theories, the NVIDIA RTX 3000 series lineup has been a hot topic for discussion. However, now the specifications for the graphics cards have been leaked and many theories appear to be true also. The alleged specifications for the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and GeForce RTX 3080 cards have been detailed. The next-generation NVIDIA segments are priced between $400-$500 and the expectations are high.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Specifications Include GA104

NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti rumored specs

The specifications came from Kopite7kimi. The details seem plausible because this leaker has also given the specifications of other high-end graphics cards like GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 2nd Gen Titan RTX in the past and they turned out to be correct.

The detailed specifications state that the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti & GeForce RTX 3070 will feature the GA104 GPU. The higher optimized version of GA104 GPU will be featured on the $500 segment. The other premium flagship graphics cards would feature GA102 GPU.

The TU104 GPU which was previously featured on the RTX 2080 SUPER, RTX 2080 & the RTX 2070 SUPER is now being replaced by the GA104 GPU. There will obviously be some major improvements with the GA104 GPU and it is said that the GPU will offer an improved architecture design and will benefit the buyers by the IPC improvements over the Turing generation.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Leaked Specifications

The inclusion of the new NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti in the rumor is quite unexpected since we did not see a Ti variant since RTX 1070 Ti during the Pascal architecture generation. The rumors suggest that RTX 3070 Ti is going to feature the full GA104-400 GPU. The GPU would have a total of 3072 CUDA cores too. The tweet suggests that the card would have at least two boards: The PG141 which would feature a GDDR6X memory and the PG142 with GDDR6 memory. Both of the cards are going to have a VRAM of 8GB.

Tweet mentioning the leaks about NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti

If we talk about the configuration of the new GA104 GPU, it is very similar to the previous-gen TU104 GPU which had 3072 CUDA cores. However, it does not mean that it would perform the same as the TU104. The key improvements would be from the advanced architecture and the improvements in the clock speed over the current RTX 2080 SUPER.

Hasan Mujtaba from WCCFtech has proposed a theory regarding the two boards mentioned in the tweet. He says that it is highly unlikely of NVIDIA to use to different two different SKU units of RTX 3070 Ti. He further suggests that both the PG141 and PG142 are currently being tested with GDDR6X and GDDR6 respectively. However, only one of them is going to pass the validation for the retail channel.

The RTX 3070 Ti is going to offer much better performance than its predecessor RTX 2070 SUPER that is of $699. Although the price of the upcoming card is not officially confirmed yet, it is expected to be in the range of $500. The new card is going to offer good performance improvements and remains in the cheaper price range than its predecessor.

Talking about the NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070, according to the leaks, it would feature the GA104-300 GPU SKU. Compared to RTX 3070 Ti, it features the lower end of the GA104 GPU. The card would have 8GB of GDDR6 memory too. If we talk about the total number of core count of the GPU, we find it is similar to the Geforce RTX 2080. The GA104-300 GPU has a total number of core count of 2944 CUDA cores. Then again the advanced architecture would be the key to delivering better performance than RTX 2080. Considering the similarities between the two cards, the price for RTX 3070 is expected to be in the $400 range.

Both of the cards are expected to offer the Ampere GA104 GPUs in the price range of $400-$500 dollars. Although, no such information about the prices have been confirmed yet it is safe to as that this news is merely a pinch of salt at this point. We have to wait and see what prices would NVIDIA launch these cards at. Fans are expecting a launch in the upcoming months and are waiting for the official conformation of these spectacular details.
