The 4th member of the GeForce RTX Family – the RTX 2060 is about to go on sale in a week, so here’s everything you need to know about Nvidia’s latest and greatest budget Graphics Card.
Coming in at $349, the RTX 2060 6GB Founders Edition is priced considerably higher than it’s last gen version, the $299 GTX 1060 6GB. This however is somewhat justified considering it brings Turing RT and tensor cores, enabling realtime raytracing just like its older siblings.
Talking about the specifications, the RTX 2060 6GB has the TU106 GPU based on TSMC 12nm “FFN” Fabrication process. It boasts an impressive 1920 CUDA Cores, same as the GTX 1070, along with a Base clock speed of 1365MHz and a Boost clock speed of 1680MHz. It also has 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a Memory clock of 14Gbps and a 192-bit Bus Width. The TDP at 160 Watts is slightly higher than the GTX 1060’s 120 Watts.
The clock speeds are very close to the RTX 2070, giving it around an 87% the performance of said Graphics Card which is surprisingly close considering the history of xx60 and xx70 Cards.
The Benchmarks further prove how close the RTX 2060’s performance is to the RTX 2070 and how much better it is compared to both the GTX 1070 and the 1070 Ti.
With performance nearing the GTX 1080, the RTX 2060 has one of the best cost to performance ratios out of any Nvidia Graphics Cards. It will give significant competition to the RTX 2070 and will reign supreme as the king of 1080p Gaming for quite some time.
