NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti Specs Leaked; Double the CUDA Cores of 2060 Super For $399

The specs for NVIDIA’s unannounced GeForce RTX 3060 Ti have leaked out, and if it’s true it could point to a substantial upgrade over the RTX 2060/2060 Super.

The new specs are public now thanks to a GPU-Z validation submitted anonymously. Here are specs for the RTX 3060 Ti, and compared to the RTX 2060 Super:

You can take a look at the GPU-Z leak here, which shows that the 3060 Ti will ship with more than double the CUDA core count of the RTX 2060 Super. Everything else though does seem to be the same, with a similar power draw and same memory configuration.

The biggest draw for NVIDIA’s new RTX 30 series is the increased ray-tracing power, which is at least double that of the previous RTX 20 series. With the RTX 3070 offering faster performance than the RTX 2080 Ti (at least that’s what NVIDIA claims), it’s no surprise that the RTX 3060 Ti should include double the CUDA core count of the RTX 2060 Super.

I should note that 2x the core count doesn’t necessarily translate to same performance scaling, but remember that the RTX 30 series is also using a new generation of RT and Tensor cores. In our review of the RTX 2060 and 2070 Super, we were already impressed by their performance. The RTX 2060 Super could offer a 4K 30 FPS gaming experience, and that should only get better with the 3060 Ti.

NVIDIA is yet to announce the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, which should happen soon after the launch of the 3070. With these new cards, NVIDIA will want to give AMD some tough competition over their RX 6000 series of cards, which will also include ray tracing for the first time.
