We have already seen how the GeForce RTX 2080 Super performs in Ashes of the Singularity. It was roughly 10% faster than the vanilla 2080, despite the fact that Ashes is an AMD sponsored title. According to NVIDIA however, the RTX 2080 Super will be just 5% faster than the RTX 2080 (on an average) while being $100 cheaper. It seems like 5% is the minimum figure as another leaked benchmark shows promising results. The Final Fantasy XV benchmark database now lists the RTX 2080 Super as well and according to this test, the top-end Super card will be 10% faster than the existing 2080, and notably faster than the fastest Pascal card, the Titan
There’s one worrying detail here, however. The RTX 2080 Super is just 12-13% faster than the RTX 2070 Super while being a whole $200 cheaper. I get it, the law of diminishing returns and all, but you’re essentially paying another $200 just for another 4-6 FPS. Still, one can’t discount the fact that the 2080 Super is your best bet if you can’t afford the RTX 2080 Ti ($999) as it should run all titles at 50+ FPS using the ultra preset at 4K. We’ll have a review up as soon as NVIDIA wills.
