NVIDIA Dominates The Steam Hardware & Software Survey, Yet Again

    Every month Steam releases its survey listing the various hardware and softwares being used by its users. Here are the general trends of January 2019. The graphics card division was completely dominated by NVIDIA with an overall share of 73.97 % of all GPUs used on Steam.

    The GeForce GTX 1060 was the most used GPU on Steam with a user share of 14.87%. The card saw a dip of 0.52% from 15.39% in December 2018.

    The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and 1050 stood at second and third with a percent share of 9.34% and 5.19% users on Steam respectively. On the other hand, NVIDIA’s high-end Pascal cards, the GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti stood at 8th and 10th position respectively with a percent share of 2.84% and 1.64% users.

    AMD didn’t have even a single entry in the top 10. The most used AMD GPU, the Radeon R7, stood at 15th in the overall list with a user share of 1.15%. Interestingly, the Radeon R7 saw a percentage growth of 0.19 percent from last month, the highest amongst all other GPUs.

    Of the 20 most used GPUs on Steam, 17 of them were from NVIDIA.

    We can only hope to see this list shake up a little bit after the release of mid-range cards like AMD Radeon Navi and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti.
