Bandai Namco has announced that Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom has finally gone gold, this means that the development process is now complete and that the game is preparing for manufacture for its March 23rd release date.
The title is being developed by Level-5 who have worked on a number of classic and well regarded RPGs such as Rouge Galaxy and Dragon Quest VIII. Former Studio Ghibli animator, Yoshiyuki Momose, along with Joe Hisaishi, who composed the soundtracks for many Ghibli films, are also participating in the game’s development.
The game’s story follows Evan Pettywhiser Tildrum, the young ruler of Ding Dong Dell who is dethroned by a treacherous coup. In his quest across the lands, he’ll meet new friends in Roland, Tani, Batu, Lofty and many others that will come to aid Evan in the building of a new kingdom which will be free of strife and unite the world of Ni no Kuni.
Bandai Namco recently shared some gameplay footage that you can watch below:
Players will get to explore the world’s many exotic and thrilling locations, meet a wide cast of potentially quirky characters, take on dangerous enemies and work with plenty of allies who are most eager to help. Among the helpers are the tiny natural phenomena known as the Higgledies. The Higgledies provide invaluable support in battle with both offensive and defensive buffs, and can help Evan and friends by increasing the power of their special attack.
There are about 100 unique Higgledies to collect, each with their own abilities. In battle you’ll be able to mix and match different combinations to gain a strategic advantage over your opponents.
