The company has revised its Xstream fiber plans offering plans starting at Rs. 499 with unlimited data. Airtel used to charge its customer Rs. 299 for unlimited data (well, not exactly unlimited data — it has a FUP of 3TB), but with the new plans, the company is dropping Rs. 299 charge and offering the same FUP limit of 3.3 TB (similar to Jio) to all the customers. Even for those who opt for the base plan. Airtel plans now start at Rs. 499 per month and go up till Rs. 3,999 per month.

    Major Advantage over Jio Fiber

All the Airtel Xstream Fiber plans come bundled with Airtel Xstream 4K Android Box worth Rs. 3999 that offers over 10,000 movies, Live TV, original series from OTT apps, and also bundles unlimited calls. Just like Jio, Plans that are priced above Rs. 799, also come with complimentary access to Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, and ZEE5. Though Jio offers access to 11 OTT platforms with the difference of Sony Liv, Voot, Alt Balaji, Sun NXT, Shemaroo, Lionsgate Play, and Hoichoi.

Airtel says these plans are not for commercial use, and you will have to pay a fully refundable security deposit of Rs 1500 for Airtel Xstream Hybrid 4K TV Box. We don’t know when these plans will roll-out, we’ll update the article once we know, but we do know that these plans will be available for all the users (existing and new customers).

Jio Fiber vs Airtel Xstream: All Plans Compared

Before we start comparing these two, one thing to note here is that Jio offers a 30-day trial to all of its new customers. And as per Jio’s website, one can get fully refunded for the services if they don’t like it, no questions will be asked. Though there are only two options for this free-trial, which will either cost you Rs. 1500, or Rs. 2,500 which depends on your choice of opting for their set-top box.

    • Base Plan Compared (Rs. 399 plan vs Rs. 499 plan)

The base plan of both Jio and Airtel Xstream Fiber is an excellent choice for those who don’t want to spend so much money on the internet and have a reliable internet connection when in time of need. Jio’s Rs. 399 plan will bag you a speed of 30Mbps speed, along with unlimited voice calling and unlimited data. Though Airtel’s base plan costs Rs. 100 more, it offers a higher speed of 40Mbps.

    • Rs. 799 (Airtel) vs Rs. 699 (Jio) plan

Both of these plans bag you a speed of 100Mbps, along with unlimited voice calling and unlimited data. Both of these plans don’t offer subscription to OTT apps.

    • Rs. 999 (Jio) vs Rs. 999 (Airtel)

Airtel Xstream Fiber’s mid-tier plan offers a speed of 200Mbps while the counter-Jio’s offering comes with a speed of 150Mbps. Both of these plans have bundled subscription to OTT apps (although, these are some differences that have been highlighted above).

    • Rs. 1,499 and Above

Plans which are priced at Rs. 1,499 offer 300Mbps of upload and download speed, unlimited data and calling. Both of these plans have bundled subscription to OTT apps (although, these are some differences that have been highlighted above). Jio has one additional plan below Rs. 3,999 mark, that comes at a price of Rs. 2,500 and offers 500Mbps speed. Both Airtel and Jio offer 1Gbps speed on Rs.3,999 plan.

    Jio Fiber Trial Options

Noticeably, there are some differences between the plans offered by both the companies, like Jio, offers a 30-day trial and Sony Liv and Voot as a part of OTT bundle, whereas Airtel Xstream Fiber offers higher speed of 40Mbps with the base plan.
