The latest companies to halt products of projects are Netflix and Disney, which includes all current films and TV shows.

Netflix has confirmed that it is halting all scripted TV and film production in both the US and Canada for two weeks due to government restrictions and health and safety precautions. Furthermore, Disney reiterated that although there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on their productions, yet, for the safety of all involved, they have paused production of their live-action films for some time.

Unfortunately for Disney, this means that a number of much-awaited productions including the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have halted.

However, it is more difficult to pinpoint exactly how many of Netflix’s productions have halted. The reason behind this being that there is an assortment of shows and films in various levels of production at any given time for the company. For the time being, Stranger Things, Grace and Frankie, Sex/Life, and Ryan Murphy’s The Prom have halted production.

On the other hand, Disney is also closing its last remaining parks – Disney World Orlando, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland in Anaheim in an effort to contain the spread of the virus. Other employees at Disney verticals like ESPN, direct-to-consumer, Disney Television, Disney Studios, and Disney Parks, Experiences and Products have been advised to work from home.

Moreover, a number of films from Disney and other studios including Universal Pictures and Sony Pictures have been delayed. These include Mulan, New Mutants, Antlers, F9, No Time To Die and A Quiet Place II. Furthermore, Warner Bros. has shut down the production of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic as well as Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Universal, on the other hand, has halted the production of its live-action Jurassic World: Dominion.
