MSI’s Gaming Monitor is Here: Designed For eSports

MSI is expanding the hardware possibilities for its users. It is all set to launch a new Gaming monitor specially designed for eSports. MSI has announced Optix MAG274R which is an IPS eSports Gaming Monitor. The monitor is equipped with an IPS panel and features a 144 Hz refresh rate and a 27” display. It has a fast response time of 1ms. MSI has claimed that the users will enjoy the best viewing experience. For gamers, its a delight as the company has claimed that they will enjoy the smoothest gaming experience. The monitor has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and it is designed for competitive gamers.

Specifications of the Optix MAG274R

The monitor is designed keeping in mind the eSports become a trend. Coming to the specifications, the monitor features the wide viewing angles of 178° (H) / 178° (V) and prevents the color shift if the viewing angle changes, which is made possible by the Panel’s IPS technology. That takes the experience of the fast-paced game to another level. It is a 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) panel. The panel covers 132% of the sRGB color gamut and also covers 95% of the DCI-P3 wide color gamut.

The monitor has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 300nits of brightness. The Brightness and contrast of the monitor ensure the most comfortable gaming experience. The monitor also supports the AMD FreeSync Premium (48Hz – 144Hz) and HDR content. Another interesting thing is the screen features MSI’s ‘Night Vision’ which is designed to deal with the darker scenes. The users can manage the monitor’s settings and can create keybindings to adjust the display by the Gaming OSD App 2.0.

A Monitor With eSports in Mind

The resolution of the monitor makes it perfect for eSports along with the inclusion of FreeSync Premium. The screen tearing problem is fixed by this Dynamic refresh rate technology. The monitor is also HDR ready along with the Full HD resolution. This technology enables the monitor to produce detailed images and colors with a larger range. It also makes the images appear much closer than they appear to the human eye.

The 1ms response time and 144 Hz refresh rate of the monitor makes it perfect for High energy and fast-paced games like Racing games, first-person shooters, and the battle royal games. These games require fast movements otherwise the player will lose the game.

Coming to the lighting, The monitor provides a soft ambient light which is located at the back. It uses MSI’s Mystic Light that enables the users to select their desired colors. They can set the color to match with the internal lighting of the monitor. Another interesting fact is that it features a gaming echo that allows the monitor’s backlight dance to the music that is being at that time.

The monitor has enough amounts of ports for connectivity located at the back. It has 1 DisplayPort 1.2a, 2 HDMI 2.0b ports. The monitor also has 1 USB Type-C (DP. alt mode), and a USB hub with 2 USB Type-A ports, and 1 USB 2.0 Type-B port for sharing and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The pricing and the release dates have not been confirmed at this point. The specifications of the monitor seem promising. It will perform well in the market. MSI has always delighted the customers with their laptops and CPUs. It should give the same level of satisfaction to the customers with the monitor too.
