After years of absence from the Indian smartphone market, Micromax is all set to make a comeback with its new ‘in’ series of smartphones on November 3. The launch event is scheduled at 12 PM IST and will be streamed live on the company’s official channels.

The Indian smartphone brand shared a small video taking a jibe at the Chinese smartphone brand with the message “Aao Karein Cheeni Kum”. The ‘Cheeni’ in “Aao Karein Cheeni Kum” references to Chinese, not Sugar. The video further adds that the ‘in’ series will add some “masala” to your life

Well, it’s pretty clear that Micromax is trying to cash in on the patriotism and anti-China sentiments after the Galwan Valley clash back in June. Now trying to attract customers who are interested in buying China-made products or products of Chinese brands and are looking for an Indian alternative.

    Micromax ‘in’ Series Specifications

Not much is known about Micromax’s upcoming ‘in’ series for now but we know that it is going to be pretty much budget-centric with two smartphones being priced at between INR 7,000 to INR 15,000. The cheaper of the lot will be powered by the Mediatek Helio G35 coupled with (up to) 3GB RAM and (up to) 32GB storage and will be featuring a 6.5-inch HD+ display backed by a 5000mAH battery. Whereas the other one is going to pack the Mediatek Helio G85 and might hit the INR 15,000 spot competing with a bunch of Chinese mid-rangers.

Rahul Sharma, Co-Founder, and CEO of Micromax has also stated that the ‘in’ series smartphones will be coming with a near-stock Android experience with no bloatware and advertisements coming in your way. He further adds that all the smartphones in the ‘in’ series will be completely Made in India supporting India’s Prime Minister vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” which translates to self-sufficient India.

It might be a great time for Micromax to come back to India’s smartphone space since people are currently celebrating festivals all around the country and some might lookout for an Indian brand before buying a Chinese smartphone.
