TVs have advanced quickly as they’ve gone on to shed bezels, become smarter, produce better picture quality and of course grown in size. But these changes often go unnoticed. Today however I can’t get my head around the fact that Xiaomi has yesterday launched the Mi QLED TV (75″) for just Rs. 1,19,999. Why would I call a sub-1lakh rupees price tag “just”, is what I’m gonna talk about.

75 Inches of Display that Costs Rs. 1.2Lakh — Why Size Matters?

Standard sizes for TVs at homes range anywhere from 32″ to about 60″. Now, this size depends on multiple factors from what sort of resolution you’re opting for to your viewing distance. Rarely does one go beyond 60″, unless you have a stadium for a living room. Well, jokes apart, a huge display size like 75″ calls for crisp picture quality, so 4K panel is a must, add to this a decent viewing distance to actually make sense out of that screen.

Once the feasibility factor of a huge display is taken care of, comes the budgetary aspect. Once you start going beyond the 55″ mark, prices start to climb steeply as one would be looking at some good amount of tech inside the TV to utilize the huge screen real estate. So for owning a huge TV, one is looking at an equally huge hole in the pocket.

Now this is where Xiaomi’s Rs. 1.2lakh price tag starts to sound reasonable.
