The Mi 11 Ultra has been reigning the internet with its on-point spec sheet and some crazy new additions and it is now here in India. The Mi 11 Ultra has been launched at Rs. 69,999. Let’s revisit what it offers.

Mi 11 Ultra — The SuperPhone Undercuts Our Price Estimate

The Mi 11 Ultra is the flagship device from Xiaomi for 2021 and comes loaded with the best of the market standards.

The Mi 11 Ultra carries forward with a fresh but generic design approach albeit with a huge rectangle camera hump at the back. The 2021 Xiaomi flagship flaunts 2 colours — Ceramic Black and Ceramic White. The Mi 11 Ultra also boasts of a 6.81″ WQHD+ AMOLED DotDisplay, which is a 2K rated panel and comes with an adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. The panel brightens up to 1700 nits of max brightness which is pretty impressive. One more interesting fact that makes this display something to look forward to is the fact that it is a 10-bit display that produces more than 1 billion colours. The display is topped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and also supports HDR 10+.

The display story doesn’t end there, as there’s one more display housed right into the camera module. This 1.1″ AMOLED display is touch-sensitive and acts like a secondary display showing you the vitals of the phone, doubles up to showcase the images and becomes a viewfinder if you wish to click a selfie with the better calibrated main set of rear cameras.

Coming to the camera, the massive camera hump also houses 3 cameras — the main 50 MP camera, 48 MP ultra-wide camera and the 48 MP periscope camera. The main 50 MP GN2 custom sensor measures at 1/1.12″ in size with 1.4μm sized pixels with the ability to go up to 2.8μm super-pixel. The 48MP Sony IMX586 ultra-wide has a leading 128o field-of-view lens system. The 48MP Sony IMX586 Periscope offers up to 5x Optical Zoom, 10x Hybrid Zoom and 120x Digital Zoom. One more trick up the sleeve is the fact that it can shoot 8K across all its cameras.

When we see the flagship tag, we know that to survive the competition the device must ship with the best of the best and that the Mi 11 Ultra does very well. It got the Snapdragon 888, a 5nm chip from Qualcomm, mated to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage system. Xiaomi is shipping this impressive rig under the hood along with some clever engineering for better heat dissipation and some optimizations on the software front to accommodate the tasteful mobile gamers.

Buying a seventy grand phone means time is money for you and Mi 11 Ultra ships with a whopping 67W fast charger for its huge 5000 mAh battery that races the battery percentage from 0-100% in 36 minutes. But this is when you realize, to push out the 2K high refresh display at high brightness counts, the 5000 mAh battery sounds justified and dares I say economical. If this sips too much power and you charge it up at such high wattage, battery health’s gonna take a dip in the long run. Something to think about.

Along with the grade ‘A’ mark sheet, the Mi 11 aims for the plus beside it by pitching in some extras, like — like Hi-Res Harman Kardon tuned dual speaker system, IR Blaster, a 360o light sensor and an IP68 certification.

    Our Take on the Pricing

We had earlier got to know from some of our sources that the Mi 11 Ultra would retail near about Rs. 1Lakh in India. However, we were pleasantly surprised with how competitively Xiaomi has priced their flagship device in India, which shows how serious they are this time to hit the sweet top-tier spot. The glorious media coverage only adds to its chances at success.

With only one variant to choose from, the Mi 11 Ultra (12GB+512GB) will retail for Rs. 69,999 and will be available soon.
