Material Design is getting a redesign this year with Android P. We have already seen some improvements in Gmail’s desktop version and on Maps.  Now Google wants to show off its new upgrades to the Material Design language and you can check it out here.Material Design 2

We knew about the update thanks to a Chrome OS leak. Google Maps has already received a huge overhaul and it seems Chrome will also be getting the new look. Chrome Canary on Android shows us a preview of this already with the redesigned tabs preview. Google Drive, Gmail, Photos and even Android Messages are slated to get a total redesign to fit Material Design 2.Material Design 2

We knew the changes were coming especially after Google released the Material Theming Tool earlier this year. With the tech giant revamping most of their major applications, it’s safe to say, they are confident in their abilities. This also means the new Pixel devices will have a radically different experience than what we were used to with the new design changes and navigation gestures being present too. Let’s just hope that these new updates will also bring a greater deal of functionality compared to their predecessors.
