The Lenovo Z5 was teased by the company’s VP Chang Cheng for weeks with a near bezel less display. The first phtot was posted on Weibo with literally no bezels and showed the top right corner. In the coming weeks, a sketch was revealed with a 100% screen to body ratio and more leaks by Chang Cheng.Lenovo Z5 leaked by VP Chang ChengThen, finally after around a month, the Lenovo Z5 was launched yesterday. We had halfheartedly expected the bottom chin, but as it turns out, the Z5 has a big notch too. It looked nothing like the entire month of leaks had made us expect it to look like. Well, that’s just one lie. Twitter user @UniverseIce posted a picture comparing the Lenovo Z5’s press release images to its real image. The bezels are significantly bigger on all sides.Lenovo Z5 - Press Release vs Real WorldLenovo claims a screen to body ratio of 90% even with the notch and the chin which look pretty standard when compared to other Android phones that haven’t hit that score. The screen is a 6.2 inch 1080p panel and the device supposedly comes with the Snapdragon 636. It comes in 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB configurations. The cameras are a 16 MP dual rear system placed like the iPhone X.Lenovo Z5 Bezel ComparisonThis is unacceptable. Lenovo lied to both the media and its customers. At least say that the design you show off is a prototype. They even lied about it being the first phone to come with 4 TB of storage This was Lenovo’s turn to win the game but now it looks like its all over for them. At their present rate of lying, I wouldn’t be surprised that we would be getting a phone with larger bezels and older aspect ratio, a worse processor and a sticker for a screen by the time it launches officially.
