iQoo 8 and 8 Pro Launched with 120Hz OLED Display, Snapdragon 888+ and 120W Charging – Starts at CNY 3,799

iQoo today announced the iQoo 8 series, the successor to its flagship iQoo 7 series. The new flagship series from iQoo packs all the bells of whistles of a premium smartphone. So let’s have a look at what iQoo’s new smartphone has in store for us.

iQoo 8 Specifications and Features

The iQoo 8 comes with a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. The panel comes with support for 10-bit colour and has a pixel density of 398ppi.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It comes with a 4,350 mAh battery with 120W fast-charging support. The iQoo 8 runs OriginOS on top of Android 11. Further, it comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

It features a triple rear camera on the optics front, including a 48MP Sony IMX598 primary camera alongside a 13MP ultrawide and 13MP portrait camera. On the front, it houses a 24 MP camera inside the punch hole cutout.

iQoo 8 Pro Specifications and Features

The iQoo 8 Pro sports a 6.76-inch Samsung E5 LTPO OLED panel. The display comes with a 120Hz variable refresh rate and offers a 2K resolution. The display also comes with support for 10-bit colours and has an A+ rating from DisplayMate.

The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 888+ SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It comes with a tad beefier 4,5000mAh battery with support for 120W charging and 50W wireless charging. It runs Android 11 based OriginOS. The iQoo 8 Pro gets an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor on the vanilla model instead of a normal one.

Coming to optics, it comes with a 50MP Sony IMX 766 sensor with a 7P freeform lens. The 50MP camera is paired with a 48MP ultrawide and a 16MP portrait camera. The main sensor also gets the 5-axis gimbal stabilization. On the front, it gets a 16MP camera for selfies.

The iQoo 8 and 8 Pro comes in four colours, White, Black, Orange. The white colour gets two finishes, a glossy one and matte, and the orange colour also has a matte finish.

The Pro model also comes in the BMW M edition.

The iQoo 8 will be on sale on August 24, while the Pro version will be up for grab two days later.
