If you’ve been expecting the Apple iPhone 9 and to launch sometime this spring, there’s some good news for you! Recent leaks show that UAG (Urban Armor Gear), a renowned case manufacturer has started delivering its product lineup for the 2020 4.7″ iPhone to prominent electronics store chain – BestBuy.

The case in question manufactured by UAG.

BestBuy has been specifically instructed to refrain from putting these products on open shelves before April 5th (an embargo of sorts). Though cases for many purported products are leaked and start selling sometimes months before the actual launch, prominent manufacturers like UAG ship their products only a few days before launch, thereby indicating a imminent unveiling.

The iPhone 9 will use the same chassis as the iPhone 8.

April 5th could either be the start of the retail cycle of the Apple iPhone 9 or the actual day of launch. If the abrupt revealing of the 2020 iPad Pro and MacBook Air is anything to go by, Apple will most probably stick to a silent online announcement amidst the tense global pandemic.

We’re quite hopeful that Apple takes the wrap off its first budget iPhone in three years sometime this week. For the uninitiated, the iPhone 9 will be Apple’s answer to the booming budget-flagship market that is currently being dominated by the likes of OnePlus and Xiaomi. The iPhone 9 will most likely feature the following specifications…

    • Apple’s latest A13 Bionic SoC
    • 3 GB of RAM
    • Primary 12MP camera from the iPhone 11
    • 4.7″ IPS LCD display (and probably a 5.5″ inch variant as well)
    • Wireless-Charging and Touch-ID
    • Glass and aluminium chassis carried over from the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

We’re quite excited about Apple’s foray into the budget-flagship market and given the iPhone 11’s stellar camera performance, this new iPhone will definitely be a force to reckon with.

Stay safe and most importantly, STAY INDOORS!
