We’ve just got new info from Hexus regarding the Intel Core i9-9900K. They’ve just published their review of the processor and have successfully overclocked it to 7.6GHz.
According to Roman Hartung, aka der8auer, the thermal performance of the chip is quite subpar and the solder thermal interface material (STIM) does more harm than good.
On 12th October der8auer had set the frequency record by achieving a clock speed of 7613.19MHz on all 8 cores which can be seen on the CPU-Z screenshot. This was made possible by the use of liquid helium which is better than liquid nitrogen as a coolant.
You can find all the records set by this processor over at the dedicated Intel Core i9-9900k page at HWBot.
