Intel Alder Lake Slide Details and 600 Series Motherboards Leaked – “Up to 2X” Multi-Thread Improvement

It seems like Intel’s grand plans for its 12th Gen Core Alder Lake series won’t seem as grand, considering nearly every big detail has been leaked well before its announcement. Today, we’ve got some more information on Alder Lake’s improvements over its predecessors, as well as some of the first details about the accompanying 600 series chipsets (motherboards).

Two new slides have been uncovered by Videocardz, with them including Intel’s claims of improvement over previous generations, as well as the general make-up of the chips.

These improvements include the following:

  • “Up to 20%” increased single-threaded performance
  • “Up to 2X” multi-threaded performance
  • PCie Gen 4 and Gen 5 support
  • DDR4 and DDR5 memory support

Along with the new CPUs, we also get more information about the 600 series motherboards, which will include support for both PCIe Gen 4 and 5 standards. We see in the following slide that Alder Lake CPUs will include 16 PCIe Gen5 lanes along with 4 lanes of last gen PCIe 4.

Intel Alder Lake is supposed to be released at the tail end of 2021, however as previously reported, we already know how the entire lineup will look like sans price. Alder Lake will include a new naming scheme, starting with ‘M’, ‘P’ and ‘S’ denoting the increasing level of power consumption. With that, the competition between Intel and Apple’s M-series chips, based on ARM, will get even more heated, with the first hints of that already hitting the public online.

While Intel has its work cut out for them with Alder Lake, we’ve already started seeing leaks from beyond, with the first 14th Gen Core “Raptor Lake” details leaked recently.
