Sony wrapped up their press conference for E3 2017 today with a showcase for Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man. Check out the newest footage below:
The title was first announced at E3 2016 with not much else following in terms of information until now. The game seems to be taking a similar approach to combat as the Batman Arkham franchise while echoing the swinging mechanics of the much loved Spider-Man 2 game. There also seems to be elements of stealth incorporated as well. The footage is also filled with a lot of QTE sequences, giving the game a very cinematic quality akin to something like Uncharted.
As of now the new Spider-Man game is shaping up to be a thrilling experience but we’re still a ways off from its release so many things could change for better or worse until then. Hopefully Insomniac manages to pull it off and give us a game that respects and makes full use of Spider-Man’s legacy.
Spider-Man is slated to release sometime next year exclusively for PS4.
